There is a group of four keys on the XO keyboard just above the 2 3 4 5 keys. Three have dot patterns and one has a rectangle. You were supposed to try them all out and see what they did, and you are supposed to have a lot of questions about what you encountered. Now we are going to explore the consequences of the key with one dot on it, between the key with three dots and the one with a rectangle. When you press the one-dot key, you see something like this.
Figure 9-1 Home View
Click the rightmost icon at the top of the screen, the one with the parallel lines in a circle. Now you see something like this.
Figure 9-2 List View
You should have been here before, and you should have questions. Go back to the other view, the Home View, by clicking the icon with a dot in a circle, and then to the List View again.
But here I have a new task for you. What questions might I ask of you at this point? What discoveries might I be leading you to? Think about it a bit. Make a list. Don't worry that you can't think of everything, or that you might be wrong. What would you ask somebody at this point?
{Page break or new chapter here.}
Right. Have a nice long list of questions? Excellent. Compare them with these.
That will do for now. How did you do on making your own question list? How many questions did you answer? Do you have any ideas about how to find answers to other questions?
The Undiscoverable: I'll give you one for free. Column three has the version number of the activity on that line. That's documented in the Sugar Labs Wiki and in the FLOSS Manuals manual for Sugar. Nothing is supposed to happen when you click them.
