The easiest way to upload audio files to Ourmedia is to use a basic webform. Because it takes a lot of resources to be able to host audio and video files, Ourmedia works with a partner organisation called Archive.org to host the video and audio files. This means that before you can upload an audio file you need to create an account on archive.org. This is explained in another chapter.
Log into the Ourmedia.org website.
Click on the upload link in the top right.

Select Audio by clicking on the audio icon.
When the audio upload form appears fill it out as many of the fields as you need to. It's a good idea to fill in as many fields as possible.

Enter a title. Browse for the audio file you want to upload. Normally this will be an mp3, ogg or wav file.
Enter the creator of the work in Author/Artist and list the relevant information about the audio file you are uploading in Description of Work.
Then enter keywords for the audio file. This really helps people who are searching for relevant material, so do try to include the most relevant tags of subject, group and location if you can.

You can enter your own Keywords in the box on the right, or you can choose from existing ones from the list shown in the box on the left. You should hold down the Control or Command key and click on multiple terms with your mouse if you want to choose more than one.
You should now add the license information. If you are unfamiliar with Creative Commons licenses you should read the information on their website here. When you have read that information you should be able to choose a license based on what you have learned. If you are not sure you can leave the default options. They are a good solution for podcasting in general. If you want to get more in depth you can read the Creative Commons Podcasting Legal Guide.

While the other information isn't essential it may help give people finding your work information that they might find useful. Try not to feel overwhelmed by all the different fields to fill in. If you don't have the information or it's not applicable in this situation you don't have to enter anything.

The above information was included in the Basic Details section of the form. This is the default Tab of information that you see.
There are 2 others - Advanced Details and Albums, Shows, Radio etc.

As the form mentions, these sections are optional. Read through them and enter the relevant information. While they may not be suitable for your needs at the moment, you may want to revisit these forms and fill them in if your needs change.
At the bottom of the page is the button allowing you to submit the data on this form.

Press Submit. If you need to go back and alter the information later then you can.
When you press submit, it will take a long time to upload your audio file. It is not easy to tell that the upload is still in progress - check the status bar of your browser. It may say "Waiting for ourmedia.org". That's a good sign that you should keep waiting.

If all goes well You should see a screen which says "Congratulations! This file has been sent to Ourmedia."

This page gives you a link to the page which will feature your audio file. Make a note of it so you can publicise this page yourself.
If you do lose track of it and need to find it again, you can do so by logging in, finding your user profile and clicking on the my links tab.
